AMSTERDAM – After a 53-day journey from Singapore, the FPSO Liza Unity has arrived in Guyana, according to ExxonMobil.

The Liza Unity is the second FPSO built for the ExxonMobil-operated Liza field development in the Stabroek block.

Mooring, hook-up, and commissioning operations will now start. First oil is expected in 1Q 2022.

The Liza Unity is designed to produce about 220,000 b/d of oil, to have associated gas treatment capacity of 400 MMcf/d, and water injection capacity of 250,000 b/d. It will be able to store around 2 MMbbl of crude oil.

It is also the first FPSO to receive the SUSTAIN-1 notation from ABS.

The Liza Unity is SBM Offshore’s first Fast4Ward FPSO, which incorporates the company’s newbuild, multi-purpose hull combined with several standardized topsides modules.

Earlier this month, SBM Offshore revealed the FPSO Prosperity entered drydock at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore. The Prosperity will operate at ExxonMobil’s Payara field offshore Guyana.

The Prosperity, engineered to produce around 220,000 b/d and to store close to 2 MMbbl, largely replicates the design used for the Liza Unity.
